Opening of Franchised outlet (FO) at Madukkur Bazaar

In accordance with the orders contained in PMG, Trichy letter no. ESA/500-2011/733-/TR dated 21.03.2013, a franchised outlet will be opened on 17.02.2014 at MADUKKUR BAZAAR FO no.614903-01-10 under Madukkur LSG SO.

 Functions of the franchised outlet

Only the following counter services are provided while delivery and transmission will be continued through the Department.  Linking arrangements will be provided by the franchisee.

a)      Sale of postage stamps and stationery / MO forms

b)     Booking of registered articles, Speed post articles, Money orders (ED BO model) e-post etc. (no bulk booking to be taken up in franchised outlets)

c)      Functioning as an agent for PLI ( Postal life insurance) and provide related after sales service including collection of premia (subject to fulfillment of criteria for PLI agents)   

d)     Providing retail and bill /tax / fine collection / payment services of the Department (subject to agreement with the other organizations involved)

e)      Marketing products for which the Department has a corporate agency or tie-up and provide related follow up services.  (Subject to agreement with the other organizations involved).

f)        Facilitating the provision of e-governance a citizen centric services. (Subject to       agreement with the other organizations involved).

g)     Any other service introduced by the Department in future through its outlets which is considered amenable to the franchisee model. (Subject to agreement with the other organizations involved.

The Franchised outlet will observe the following working hours on all days except on Postal Holidays and Sundays. - 0900 hrs - 1500   hrs

Launch of Faciltation counter for Online Registeration of Passports at Pattukottai HO and Tiruthuraipoondi HO.

In a recent development, as a part of collaborative initiative of CentralRegion,Tamilnadu circle,Indiapost and Regional Passport Authority,Trichy, a facility for Online registeration of passports has been launched on 10 februaury 2014 at all Head offices in Central Region,trichy including Pattukottai HO and Tiruthuraipoondi HO.This facility will help passport applicants cut the need to make multiple visits to distant Passport Sewa kendras for each stage.The broad outline of steps to be followed are as follows:-
1)The applicant will buy application form available at designated facilitation counters in head post offices at the price of Rs 10/-. After filling up the form in detailed manner correctly it will be submitted at the counter.
2)The counter official after scrutinizing the application will generate an online payment chalan, out of two available options, as per the choice of applicant.The normal mode will be charged at Rs 1500/- and the Tatkal mode at Rs 3500 /- per application.The payment of challan will have to be effected at SBI branch. The payment of challan has to be made not before 2 hours from the generation of the challan.
4) After 2 days from making payment at SBI, the applicant will be required to go to facilitation counter to complete next step and get details of appointment schedule.
5) The commission charged by Department of Posts payable by applicant is Rs 100/- per application.
